Sheriff Charles A. “Chuck” Jenkins was elected to the Office of Sheriff in 2006, but his law enforcement career began with the Frederick County Sheriff ’s Office in 1990.  After attending the Harford County Sheriff ’s Office Law Enforcement Academy, Chuck was assigned to the Patrol Division for 3 years.

In 1993, he was assigned to criminal investigations, and having a passion for handling investigations, he conducted many high profile cases as a criminal investigator until 2006. During that time, Chuck also served as a crisis negotiator and firearms instructor.

Sheriff Jenkins was born and raised in Frederick County where he continues to live with his wife Shari and children, CJ and Meghan.  He is very active in the local community as a member of numerous groups to include the Lewistown Volunteer Fire Department, Lewistown Ruritan Club, Frederick County Farm Bureau, National Rifle Association, and Monocacy Pistol Club of Frederick.
